
Mrs. Smith's 2nd grade scientists just wrapped up their unit on soil with a fun and tasty activity! To help remember the five layers of soil, students created a delicious dessert model using different treats to represent each layer—from the rich topsoil to the bedrock below.





These boys earned medals today at Lowell Eaton Relays in Harrisburg.
Danian Williams-Sunderland with a 5th place finish in Shot Put and a 6th place finish in Discus.
Sam Harlan took 3rd in the 100.
Lastly, Reece placed 5th in the 1600 and broke his old record with a time of 10:53:09 in the 3200 to place 2nd. Congrats Reece!

KA (Ms. Roling's class) cashed in on their prize for winning the PTO Penny War today and enjoyed getting to pie their teacher and principal after the April Awards Assembly!

On Wednesday, April 9, 4th and 5th graders had the opportunity to attend Little Dixie Regional Library's annual Author Day. Students got to meet and listen to two New York Times best-selling authors Natalie Lloyd and Kalyn Josephson. Our students had a great time!

On Monday, the 6th grade choir class traveled to MACC in Moberly to participate in the Northeast Missouri Music Educators Association's Honors Choir, where they joined with other 6th graders from the Northeast Region of the the state. Under the direction of Hickman High School choir director Tim Hercules, they practiced several songs throughout the day and had a concert that evening for the public. We are very proud of our 6th grade choir class for participating in this event!

Our 7th Grade FACS students have gone gourmet! This week, they put their skills to the test by creating their very own gourmet brownie recipes—from scratch! Along the way, they’ve been practicing essential kitchen skills like measuring and mixing, reading and following recipes, staying safe in the kitchen, and even doing the dishes!

The middle schoolers are excited to meet authors Kalyn Josephson, author of Ravenfall, and Natalie Lloyd, author of Hummingbird during our visit to the Moberly Municipal Auditorium this morning! Each student will be able to hear these authors speak about their lives, inspiration behind their books, and encourage them in their pursuits. Each student will leave with a swag bag of autographed books, as well!
